Good question. So what happens in big dorms is that you get sorted into a specific floor/wing during REX. New House is only that way with the numbered houses (House 3, 4, and 5). Therefore, no one in the cultural houses really moves during REX, unless you and some other DH'er want to switch with one another, but I've never seen this happen. So feel free to move in as permanently as you want. I sincerely hope you aren't, but if you are having second thoughts, consider exploring other residences (that's the whole point of REX); after REX is First-Year Residence Exchange (FYRE) where you might chose to move to another dorm.
