Hoisin Tofu

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 block(s) tofu
3 tbsp Hoisin sauce

Directions

Check ingredients of Hoison sauce for allergens! Not all are made the same!

1. Drain the tofu, and squeeze it between two towels to remove any excess water
(Alternatively press, although this will take longer)

2. Cut it into 1cm dice, or slabs 0.5-1cm thick

3. Heat the oil in a large frying pan, and add the tofu. Cook over a medium heat for 5-10 minutes, stirring/flipping occasionally, until the tofu is golden brown and crispy all over. Make sure you have enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan, and if the tofu sticks a lot, let it cook until it releases, but make sure it does not burn to the pan.

4. When the tofu is crispy, pour over the sauce, and mix to combine. Allow the mixture to bubble a little, until it has reduced, is thick and coats the tofu.
