Churros (elainez)

Serves 5

Ingredients

4 cup canola oil
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup flour
0.5 tsp salt
2.5 tbsp sugar
0.5 cup sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup water

Directions

1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, salt and vegetable oil. (The lesser amounts in ingredients. The second larger measure of sugar is for rolling the the cooked churros in). Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.

2. Heat oil for frying in deep-fryer or deep skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Pipe strips of dough into hot oil using a pastry bag. Fry until golden; drain on paper towels.

3. Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
